Inauguration ceremony - science in the newly constructed building Department of Physical Chemistry, Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society

The research building for precision laser laboratories on the campus of the Fritz Haber Institute in Berlin-Dahlem is characterised by three different volumes. Behind the golden metal facade is already being researched and experimented. On March 21, 2018 the festive inauguration took place.
Director Prof. Martin Wolf of the Department of Physical Chemistry welcomed the numerous guests. Prof. Mischa Bonn, MPI for Polymer Research, Mainz opened the event with a ceremonial address titled ‘Water – complex, dynamic and wet’.
The departmental scientists gave interesting insights into the basic research in physical chemistry on elemental processes in solids and on surfaces.
DGI Bauwerk designed and realised the research building with highly installed laboratories for laser and scanning tunneling microscopy [STM], physics and chemistry laboratories and offices.
