The aim of the excursion was already known to many employees from the previous year. DGI Bauwerk is in charge of the construction management for ARGE Schloss Wittenberg. Now, under the expert guidance of the construction manager Ingo Bunk as well as the colleagues Robert Schmill and Martin Staats, the changes from the last year to the now nearly finished state were inspected and admired. Especially the priestly seminar with its patios on the roof of the castle left a lasting impression. Planning and technical details behind the reduced design of the interiors have been discussed. The spaces reveal a quiet and concentrated atmosphere, while still allowing an open view of the city and landscape. Afterwards, a part of the DGI team climbed the almost 300 steps of the church tower or visited the special exhibition on Ernst Barlach and Käthe Kollwitz of the Christian Art Foundation in the south wing of the castle. After lunch, the excursion programme ended with a visit to the 360 °panorama, a piece of art which brings the most important scenes of the Reformation epoch to life with pictures, sound and light.
