Planning ahead - photovoltaics and the new Berlin Solar Act

From 2023, the new solar law will come into force in Berlin, which will require buildings with more than 50 square metres of usable floor space to be equipped with a photovoltaic system in new buildings and larger conversion projects.
At the invitation of the Berlin Chamber of Architects, Chamber President Theresa Keilhacker, Dr Björn Rau, Head of the Advice Centre for Building-Integrated Photovoltaics at the Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin, architect Constanze Tibes from DGI Bauwerk Berlin and Grant Kelly from NAK Architekten discussed what this means for the work of architecture and planning offices.
