The mission of today’s Bundeswehr Hospital consists in the initial, further and continuing training as well as the provision of medical personnel for the Bundeswehr deployment. As part of a restructuring, the patient garden and a total of around 30 buildings are prepared.
DGI Bauwerk was responsible for the continuation of the construction supervision for the renovation of the listed building 1.3 with 20 beds, examination and treatment zones, three operating rooms and a central personnel changing room and facilities for physiotherapy.
The listed building 1.3 was built as a former garrison hospital in 1853-56 and is located in the central axis of the complex with access to the spacious patient park. It houses a hospital ward with about 20 beds, examination and treatment zones [endoscopy and radiology], three operating rooms and a central staff changing room and rooms for physiotherapy.
During ongoing operation the construction work requires experience in monument protection and in special knowledge about the structural implementation of the operating and technical rooms.
