In Hamburg HafenCity six residential buildings with 64 owner occupied flats, offices and commercial units were built with the new Dalmann Carrée. Similar to the other buildings in the HafenCity, the new construction was placed orthogonally to the quay wall. Several residential buildings are combined. With an overhang up to 12m, the cantilevers on the quayside promenade remember on loading units of early storage buildings. Generous glazing and profound balconies grant the residents a nearly 360° view of the HafenCity. Towards the Dalmann Carrée are more six-storey residential buildings with quay orientated terraces and clinkered façades. Every residential building is a so called ‘3-litre house’, the first zero emission houses in the HafenCity. Due to its precise detailed design, DGI Bauwerk made it possible to fulfil the architectural demand in design and ensures the required quality standards for a successful realisation.
