The new centre, which will be located right next to the main building, will provide new laboratories [cleanroom areas] for the ISE.
The urban planning concept of the competition contribution provides a ‘White Cell’ as a compact, narrow building. The new building presents itself as a oblong form with an economical floor plan and an efficient use of space. The clean- and laboratory rooms are merged on the same floor. The offices are designed as a dual alliance system on another level. Access areas are planned with extensions for scientific exchange and informal meetings outside the office. The facade is divided by four horizontal bands that represent the number of floors and accommodate the needed daylight. Located just outside the main construction a new institute building with clean room-laboratories is planned for the ISE.
